“…all major exhibitors have effectively pulled their support from the show, prompting the majority of game publishers to also cancel plans for high-cost booths. Secondo Next Generation l’E3 è finito. Ci si aspetta un comunicato da parte degli organizzatori per oggi stesso.

- UPDATE – Tutto confermato. Gli organizzatori hanno dichiarato che “E3Expo 2007 will not feature the large trade show environment of previous years”, che si terrà ancora a Los Angeles e che sarà un evento più “intimo”.

Zelda: The Wind Waker Beta Levels – VIDEO

Tramite Action Replay è possibile accedere ad alcuni livelli beta di Zelda: the Wind Waker, che non sono stati inseriti nel gioco, ma sono presenti nel codice ed accessibili tramite smanettamento (come accade spesso nei giochi PC, e com’è successo con Hot Coffee). Su Destructoid ci sono due video.

Super Mario Galaxy predetto nel 1991

Nel Dicembre 1991, Nintendo Power pubblicò questa lettera…il piccolo Jimmy Peterford azzeccò il titolo del gioco, ed è andato anche molto vicino ai 250 dollari previsti per il prezzo di lancio di Wii…volendo potremmo anche affermare che Wii non può “play any game from any game system“, ma ci va vicino, dato che può emulare NES, Super Nes, Nintendo 64, PC-Engine e Mega Drive… (da Joystiq)

Cory Arcangel – Super Mario Movie, I Shot Andy Warhol, 8 Bit Construction Set

 

Cory Arcangel è un artista contemporaneo che usa spesso materiali videoludici a 8bit.

“The projects working title is called “Mario Movie” [...] it is a hacked 8bit Super Mario Brothers 1 cartridge. i will hack the game cartridge and totally reprogram it… so when you put in THIS cartridge, instead of the game, you are presented with a 15 minute movie using all original graphics from the game [without actually altering the original factory soldered grahics ROM]. The movie is gonna be about how Mario’s world is falling apart. Like mad max, but in 8bits.”

Super Mario Movie è stato presentato l’anno scorso insieme ad un’installazione.

I Shot Andy Warhol è un mod di Hogan’s Alley dove dovete sparare Warhol evitando il Papa, Flavor Flav e il tizio del Kentucky Fried Chicken. VIDEO.

The file is then “saved as” a new document. Depending on the number replacement and of the original compression, the image will have a completely different and unpredictable aesthetics. So from a single image the program can generate millions of corrupted versions.”

Hillary Clinton tassa i videogiochi?

In un articolo su Kotaku, Brian Crecente non cita le sue fonti, ma sostiene che “One of Clinton’s brainbursts is to try and add a special tax to video games, sorta like what a lot of states do for cigarettes. The profits from the tax would then go to a child advocacy program.” La Clinton vorrebbe anche organizzare conferenze contro la violenza nei videogiochi. Se la proposta vi pare assurda, Joystiq fa notare che ci sono già state proposte di legge del genere (qui e qui), mentre su Gamepolitics l’utente jamesweis linka il testo di una bill non approvata nello stato di New York.
